E. R. Brownell and Associates was formed in Miami, Florida in 1955 and later incorporated in 1968. Mr. Thomas Brownell and Mr. Angel Lopez purchased E. R. Brownell & Associates, Inc. in 1992 from its founder Edwin Rowland Brownell. Although originally strictly a Land Surveying based firm, over the years Brownell and Associates has developed substantial operations in Land Planning and Civil Engineering supporting projects in Residential, Commercial and Telecommunications development. Throughout the growth and diversification that has marked its history however, Brownell & Associates has always maintained the core of its professional practice and operation in the field of Land Surveying and Mapping, offering its services to governmental agencies at all levels, as sub-consultants to other professional disciplines, and to the public at large.

Lauderdale International Airport, and Layout for SR826 improvement project on behalf of Middlesex Construction. Right of Way Control Surveys and Maps for the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC). Many Miscellaneous Design and Right of Way Mapping Contracts for the Florida Department of Transportation District VI (Miami-Dade County) and District IV (Ft. Lauderdale). Several Miscellaneous Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) contracts with FDOT District VI, also CEI contracts with M K Centennial, Metric Engineering, Parsons Transportation Group.
